⁴⁰How I ·want to follow [long for] your ·orders [precepts].
Give me life because of your ·goodness [righteousness].

⁴¹Lord, ·show [^Lbring] me your ·love [loyalty],
and ·save me [give me victory] as you have ·promised [said].
⁴²I have an answer for people who ·insult [scorn] me,
because I ·trust [find refuge in] what you say.
